Welcome. I'm currently transitioning all of my stories to this site, although I will still be posting on Potions and Snitches. Feel free to poke around until it's all finished and tell me what you think!

General writing prompts: (These are general brain benders to get your creative juices flowing.  Pick one or more and start writing, even if you don't know where the plot will take you yet.  It's just a good writing exercise, regardless of if it turns into a story worth sticking online or not).

1) Pick any character, and throw them out into the Muggle world.  What will happen?  Is there a reason they're out there?  Are they lost or confused?  Alone?  With someone else?

2) Pick any two characters from two separate houses.  Throw them into either a humorous, or dangerous situation.  What happens?  How did they get there?  How will they get out?  Are there other people around?  What type of relationship do these characters have or will they develop?

3) Put Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley in a ridiculous detention together.  It might be ridiculously hard or silly or stupid.  They obviously hate each other, so play off of that.  Will they come to an understanding in the end, or just agree to go on hating each other?  Will they torment each other or get into a fist fight?  Why are they in detention and did they learn their lesson?

4) Write a story involving two or more characters (any that you choose), Voldemort, a horse, a Hyppogryff, and a folding lawn chair.

5) Send any character you choose back in time.

6) Send any character you choose forward in time.

7) Put two rivals on a professional Quidditch team together.  What happens?  It doesn't have to be Harry and Draco or typical Gryffindor vs. Slytherin.  Mix it up a bit.

8) Write a story from Ron's perspective instead of from Harry's.

9) Use your favorite quote, scripture, or song lyric in a story.

10) Send one or more characters of your choice out into a wooded area somewhere.  Why are they there?  Is there danger?  Are they vacationing?  Are the people enemies?  Are they there of their own choice?  Are they lost?  What's the tone of the story?  Do they live nearby?

11) Make the Dursley's meet the Grangers.  What happens?
